November 2024 – Tutator, in collaboration with Morija, is proud to announce an innovative partnership that will transform the health and nutrition monitoring and care for vulnerable communities in Burkina Faso. Through the implementation of Nutritrack, a customized software, this joint effort aims to improve the efficiency of Morija’s nutrition centers and enhance their capacity to provide high-quality healthcare, particularly for at-risk children and women.
Since 1979, the Morija association has been committed to combating malnutrition and strengthening healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa. The association supports two centers located in Ouagadougou and Nobéré in Burkina Faso, whose mission is to help improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable populations by offering accessible healthcare, nutritional support and local training. Every year, around 1,500 malnourished children are cared for in these centers, and 2,500 women receive in-depth training in nutrition and breastfeeding practices. These efforts make a lasting contribution to community health, the prevention of child malnutrition and, more broadly, to community development.
Morija is one of the 2024 recipients of Tutator Forward, an in-kind grant program that supports organizations driving positive societal or environmental impact. Through this program, Tutator collaborates closely with grantees to develop customized software solutions tailored to their needs. Nutritrack, created as part of this initiative, exemplifies how technology can amplify the reach and efficiency of social projects, ensuring that Morija’s vital work in nutrition and healthcare continues to transform lives in Burkina Faso.
With the implementation of Nutritrack software, developed in partnership with Tutator , Morija is modernizing its patient care and follow-up processes. This innovative software, custom-built by Tutator, computerizes and centralizes all the centers’ patient data, facilitating individualized, ongoing monitoring of children and their families. By also integrating the data of women receiving training, Nutritrack enables precise monitoring of their progress in terms of nutrition and breastfeeding, and thus makes it easier to assess the impact of preventive actions. “The implementation of Nutritrack will improve our responsiveness and enable us to provide even more appropriate and effective care”, explains Claude Yabré, Director of the Nobéré Nutritional Center, who is delighted with this technological advance.
Nutritrack software goes far beyond simply centralizing data: it’s a tool that will enable rapid, informed decision-making. The statistics gathered through this system will provide greater visibility of care and prevention needs in communities, optimizing intervention capacity and strengthening community impact. Elise Berchoire, in charge of Morija’s Nutrition and Health Programs, comments: “Nutritrack will be an invaluable aid in continually adapting our actions to the real needs of our populations”.
Thanks to the support of Tutator through the development of Nutritrack, Morija is demonstrating its determination to offer an innovative model of nutritional care that is more accessible to all. This ambitious collaborative project puts technology at the service of solidarity: it marks a major step forward for medical monitoring in Burkina Faso, serving not only the act of care, but also having a lasting and positive impact on the healthcare system.
