Description

As Solid’Africa expanded its meal programs in Rwanda, fragmented records and partly manual processes made it harder to see what was happening across hospitals and schools and to compile reports. Tutator and Solid’Africa are developing ServeApp to track meals from the kitchen through dispatch, delivery and service, including where connectivity is limited. Comparing what was planned with what was prepared, delivered and served will help teams identify discrepancies, plan distribution and report to partners and donors as the programs grow. Solid’Africa will track food waste separately.

The solution

Community development

ServeApp will give kitchen and field teams a shared record of meal distribution across hospitals and schools. Staff will be able to record preparation, dispatch and delivery even where connectivity is limited, giving teams a clearer account of what each site was meant to receive and what actually arrived.

Healthcare

Teams will be able to verify deliveries and record the meals served to hospital patients and schoolchildren. Comparing those records with planned portions will help Solid’Africa spot gaps in service and use operational data to plan and expand its nutrition programs.
