Prosecutor’s Office trains in juvenile criminal justice

The Attorney General’s Office, through the Directorate of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Juvenile Criminal Justice and Environmental Crimes and in coordination with the School of State Prosecutors, and with the support of the Foundation (TUTATOR), develops the first National Training Program in the Off-Line modality called “Specialization Course on Juvenile Criminal Justice and the National and International Regulatory Framework in the Exercise of the Prosecutorial Function – Law No. 548”, aimed at 527 Subject Matter Prosecutors of the departmental and authorities of the Attorney General’s Office.

“The purpose of the academic activity is to guide and improve the knowledge of the prosecutors in the specialized prosecution of juvenile criminal justice with a restorative approach that must be followed from the beginning of the process until its culmination. In this way, to homogenize criteria and procedures at a national level within the framework of what is prescribed in the Code of the Child and Adolescent (CNNA) and national and international instruments with a Human Rights approach”, said the Director of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Juvenile Criminal Justice and Environmental Crimes, Vania Arroyo Arce.

For his part, the Director of the State Prosecutors School, Eduardo Serrano Ramos, indicated that this training process has a duration of 20 days and began on September 17 and will conclude on October 6 of this year.

“As it is an off-line course, it means that there are no fixed schedules, the participants carry out a self-organized learning, advancing according to their own time through the virtual platform of the School of State Prosecutors (Moodle)”, explained Serrano.
